Has a slot machine ever been hacked?

Those one-armed bandits are just electronic games of chance with fancy graphics, but once you start adding computer chips and networks, hackers will try to exploit them. Programmers have found security flaws to manipulate the random number generators and tilt the odds in their favor. Casinos have gotten pretty good at spotting cheaters, but the demand to beat the slots keeps the hacking attempts going. The casinos know that if a few lucky players start raking in jackpots, the word will spread and it’ll cut into their bottom line quick. The cat and mouse game between hackers and casinos is constant. Don’t doubt for a minute that someone out there is trying to crack the code on your favorite slot machine!

Although I haven't seen it been hacked ,but I think it's actually possible for the slot machine to actually get hacked ,most especially when the casino platform did not actually place orderliness when it comes to using the slot machine

There have been numerous instances of slot machines being hacked over the years. In some cases, hackers have been able to access the machines' internal programming and manipulate the outcomes of the game. In other cases, hackers have been able to physically alter the machines themselves to allow them to win more money.
