Have you ever adjusted your strategy and still lost?

Fellow players, I wonder if any of you have adjusted your strategy to apparently improve your game yet still not had any success. I have played blackjack for nearly 10 years and have changed the way I play the game several times over this period based on advice from other players and articles I have read. However, even after altering things like how I count the cards, when I double down and when I split, I do not seem to win any more money than before. Have any of you experienced a similar issue where adjusting your strategy did not work out as planned? I would appreciate any tips and lessons learned from your own experiences.

Adjustment of strategy is not a proof that you will win. I have adjusted my strategy and still lose. Not only one but on mutiple occasions. You can't believe how i reacted that day. It is so disheartening.
