Hawaii forfeitures linked to illegal gambling generate $1.9million

This week, federal prosecutors disclosed that through the successful forfeitures linked to illegal gaming in Hawaii, they were able to make over $1.9 million.
As per the Hawaii U.S. Attorney's Office, a single illicit gambling enterprise operated nine gaming rooms on the island of Oahu.

The funds were obtained through the sale of an Honolulu home that was bought with proceeds from illicit gaming.

Authorities seized money, gambling machines, and other items during the course of the investigation, according to the prosecution. Money connected to illicit gaming was also taken from bank accounts by authorities.

Following an investigation that started in 2018, the forfeitures were made. Twelve people were found guilty as a result. Prosecutors did not instantly provide the names of the accused.
