In an attempt to increase government revenue, Hong Kong is thinking about legalizing basketball betting.
In addition to its Mark Six Lottery, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which currently controls the majority of the betting in the area, would be able to offer more sports gambling options, including football and horse racing, if this measure were to be implemented.
This proposal has been discussed previously in Hong Kong, where calls to legalize basketball betting were turned down around this time last year.
