Hoosier Lottery Commission approves refund for $50,000 winner with torn ticket

The Hoosier Lottery Commission decided to reject a $500 prize to a scratch-off winner who uploaded their winning ticket online and approve a $50,000 prize claim to a winner whose ticket was torn up.

In the end, the Hoosier Lottery Commission decided to approve one of the two highly intriguing cases involving the legitimacy of two radically different prize claims and rejected the other.

Tuesday's meeting of Lottery commissioners in Indianapolis focused on one lucky man and his $50,000 Powerball winning ticket. The problem was that, although he had moved forward to accept the prize, his ticket was torn into pieces.
