How can I control my finances inorder not to run at a huge gambling loss ?

I actually don't want to run in big loss and I am actually planning on controlling my expenses , because I know that if I can't do that the losses that I would probably be making would be so huge , so I really have to make efforts on that ,like controlling and others in that order
