While the rewards are appealing, I always remember the house ultimately has the edge. The free stuff is a means to an end - to get me onto their floor so I'll hopefully feed more money into the slot machines and card tables. I know the math, even if I can convince myself "this time will be different." Still, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do for a new set of cocktail glasses!
At the end of the day, the comps and points only make my losses feel more palatable. But a smart gambler never relies on the hope of freebies to fund their habit. The casino's generosity only extends so far as my wallet allows! There are no real "free lunches" in the gambling game. My advice: enjoy the perks but don't mistake them for profit.
