Casinos take disputes or irregularities that occur during Baccarat games very seriously. They have established procedures and protocols in place to handle such situations fairly and maintain game integrity:
Misdeals:
- If a misdeal occurs, such as exposed cards or incorrect number of cards dealt, the hand is immediately declared dead by the dealer.
- All bets are returned to players for that particular hand.
- The dealer then re-deals the hand with a new shoe or deck to continue play properly.
Incorrect Payouts:
- If a player claims an incorrect payout amount was given, the game will be paused.
- A boxing inspector or pit supervisor is called over to verify the settlement.
- If an error occurred, it is rectified immediately by paying the correct amount or collecting the overpaid amount.
Disputed Card Values:
- If there is uncertainty over the value of a specific dealt card, the game may be halted temporarily.
- Supervisors will closely inspect the card(s) in question with the assistance of video surveillance footage if needed.
- Once the value is officially determined, the hand can then be properly scored and settled.
Player Complaints:
- If a player makes a serious complaint, such as about potential dealer mistakes or irregularities, supervisors are notified.
- The dealer may be asked to explain what occurred.
- Video surveillance is reviewed to determine if any infractions took place.
- Appropriate disciplinary actions occur for substantiated irregularities.
Casinos have extensive surveillance and maintain detailed records to investigate and resolve disputes. While rare, any substantiated cheating or dealer irregularities are treated very seriously. Maintaining game integrity is the top priority.
