How does the payout structure affect implied odds and cutoffs?

When you play poker, the amount of money the casino will pay out for a winning hand affects the possible return on your bet compared to the chance you will win that bet. This is called the implied odds. The implied odds help you decide the minimum hand strength needed for a call, known as the cutoff. Hands with strength below the cutoff, you should fold as the chance of winning does not justify calling with those hands based on the payout structure and amount you must call.
