The third-card rule in Baccarat is a set of predetermined rules that dictate whether the Player or Banker (or both) will draw a third card. These rules are followed automatically based on the initial cards dealt to the Player and Banker hands.
The third-card rule is as follows:
If either the Player or Banker has a natural hand (a total of 8 or 9 with the first two cards), no further cards are drawn. The hand stands as is, and the game proceeds to determine the winner based on the initial cards.
If neither the Player nor the Banker has a natural hand, the following rules are applied to determine whether a third card is drawn:
If the Player's total is 0-5: The Player draws a third card.
If the Player's total is 6 or 7: The Player stands and does not draw a third card.
After the Player's actions, the Banker's actions are determined based on the following rules:
If the Banker's total is 0-2: The Banker draws a third card regardless of the Player's third card.
