Railroad, or Chemin de Fer, is a variation of baccarat that is popular in Europe. In this version of baccarat, the players act as bankers and can make additional side bets. The game is named "railroad" because it moves quickly, similar to how a train moves along a railroad track. Each player is dealt two cards and can wager on the banker's hand, the player's hand, or a tie. The player with the highest total wins the game.

Compared to standard baccarat, railroad baccarat requires a greater level of player participation and decision-making. The banker position rotates counterclockwise, which adds a strategic component and encourages player engagement. The goal is to place a wager on the hand whose total will be the closest to 9.
