About 90% of poker relies on luck and chance, the other 10% is skill.

Them cards come outta the shoe like they got a mind of their own, ain't no taming ‘em. But that 10% of skill, well that’s what separates the cowpokes from the tenderfoots. Knowing when to fold ‘em, knowing when to hold ‘em, and most importantly, knowing when to bluff. Bluffing is an art form, I'm telling you.
Reading them playaz at the table and laying down the right bets at the right time, now that’s wheah the talent lies. Luck’ll determine if the river pairs the flop, but skill’ll determine if I end up with a pot of chips or an empty holster. Them odds never stay the same at the table, so you gotta keep an eagle eye and calculate quick. That’s how I’ve hustled my way into the nitty gritty, through 90% luck and 10% skill I reckon!

Overall, poker is a game of both skill and luck. The skill element is more important in the long term, while the luck element is more important in the short term. If you want to be a successful poker player, you need to develop your skills and minimize the impact of luck on your results.
