Does the old maxim "make 'em play it or take their money away" still hold true in today's loose games? In my experience, raising pre-flop with any two cards, especially weak or connecting cards like 22, still punishes limpers and callers by charging the blinds and forcing weaker made hands to fold. While some call my opens with rags, more often than not I win the blinds and antes without competition. Sure, I lose occasionally to dominated or counterfeited hands, but those losses are more than offset by punishing loose and passive players. What say you, players - does an aggressive strategy with weak starters still work at your tables?
