You shouldn't rush the process at first. Spend some time observing the person's actions. Invite her on outings first, not to your home. You might even opt to get to know the person for a month or two. Two months may seem like a long time, but it's worth it in the end. You can now ask her whether she's seeing somebody when the opportunity arises and you feel like you know a lot about the individual. If she says no, you're good to go; if she says yes, you can take care of things on your own.
