Illinois gambling bill yet to fully gain traction

Though the state's iGaming efforts have not progressed during the Illinois legislative session, there is still hope. There is still opportunity for the gaming bill to advance during the final three weeks of the session.

In order for the state to benefit from the opportunities presented by the vertical, the bill aims to legalize online casino gaming. In addition to allowing three skins per iGaming license and imposing a 15% tax on online gaming, the bill would establish a stateInternet Gaming Act.

Nonetheless, it appears that Illinois lawmakers are taking their time regulating internet gaming and haven't yet convened a public debate on the subject.
