Illinois sports betting options reduced

Illinois sports bettors now have fewer options after the NFL filed a request to have specific lines eliminated from sportsbooks, which was handled by state gaming regulators.

Bets on fan safety, player misconduct, the game's opening play, roster/personnel decisions, a player missing a field goal or extra point, a quarterback's first pass, and any other wager with an outcome that can be decided by one player were also included in the list of banned bets that were suspended.

Illinois sportsbooks recently removed several types of NFL betting lines after a request by the NFL and state gaming regulators. The banned bets include wagers on outcomes like fan safety, player conduct, specific plays like a quarterback's first pass or a missed field goal, and single-player decisions. These changes aim to limit bets that hinge on individual actions, aligning with NFL’s focus on integrity and safety.
