In eight States, Wynn Resorts discontinues its sports betting app.

In an industry where FanDuel and DraftKings Inc. dominate, Wynn Resorts Limited. has decided to shut down its wagering on sports application in eight states.

The company announced in a statement that its app, WynnBet, was leaving markets like New Jersey, Virginia, as well as Arizona due to the high cost of marketing to attract sports betting customers and the lack of states that also legalized casino games on the internet like blackjack and roulette, which could increase revenue for the company.

The app continues to operate in Massachusetts and Nevada, where Wynn owns casinos. Operations in Michigan as well as New York are being examined.
