According to figures from the Ministry of Finance, sales of lotto tickets in China reached 29.72 billion yuan in October 2022, an increase of 1.1 percent from the previous year.
Last week, 10.99 billion yuan worth of lottery tickets were sold to fund the welfare system, a fall of 12.7% from the same period in 2017. The amount of lottery tickets sold to assist the sports sector increased by 11.4% on a yearly basis to 18.73 billion yuan.
According to the data, China sold 310.96 billion yuan worth of lottery tickets in the first ten months of 2022, an increase of 1% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
