In Peru, there are calls for an investigation into sports betting manipulation.

The Professional Footballers' Association of Peru has urged the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) to initiate an inquiry into the performances in Liga 1 games owing to suspicions of match-fixing for the purpose of sports gambling. There have even been demands for the Betsson-sponsored league to be put on hold until the investigation is completed. Safap president Roberto Silva Pró expressed worries about possible misconduct, including alleging that a player was subjected to a gunpoint threat. The Callao-based club Academia Cantolao, primarily renowned for its youth squad, has also voiced concerns regarding the betting corruption involving its players.
