The Australian Communications and Media Authority found Ladbrokes, bet365, and Sportsbet violated gambling rules by using fast codes for in-play betting.
According to the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 in-play betting is allowed over the phone with specific conditions. The operators generated unique codes for each in-play bet, breaching the phone betting exception.
After investigation operators modified the codes to be generic, and the ACMA won't take further action for now.
