IThe total amount of money spent on gambling in September was $140.1 million, which is slightly less compared to last year. But for the whole year up to September, the total spent on gambling was nearly $1.2 billion, which is more than the previous year.
According to the report, the total money earned by casinos last month was $13.6 million. After taking out some expenses, the actual money earned by the casinos was about $12.9 million. Because South Dakota taxes gambling at 9%, the state got about $1.16 million in taxes from this in September.
