India gambling watchdog urges members to adopt new standards

The first set of responsible advertising guidelines pertaining to the promotion of "real-money gaming" has been released by the Advertising Standards Council of India.

The non-governmental organization has cautioned its members about promoting real money games, an advertising segment that the watchdog considers high-risk.

The 28 autonomous state governments of India will ultimately decide how to regulate and legalize games, according to the Advertising Standards Council of India, which maintains that its guidelines are designed to create a safe and logical framework for advertisers to adhere to when promoting real money games.
