According to the Chief of the India National Police, 2,278 cases involving online gambling were reported to the police in 2023. During the year-end press conference held at the police headquarters, he presented the report.
He added that the police, working with the Ministry of Communication and Information, had blocked over 10,000 gambling websites and frozen at least 1,229 of the offenders' bank accounts so far this year.
