Indonesia communications minister promises to crack down on illegal gambling

The communications minister of Indonesia announced on Friday that over 2 million websites providing illicit online gambling services had been shut down, calling the practice "sucking the people's blood dry."

The largest Muslim-majority country in the world forbids online gambling, but according to government data, over 3 million Indonesians gambled there last year, with an estimated worth of nearly $20 billion, or 1.5% of GDP.
