Indonesia government agency blocks 5,000 bank accounts linked to online gambling

The government agency responsible for financial intelligence in Indonesia has shut down approximately 5,000 bank accounts linked to online gambling, which allegedly transferred trillions of rupiah abroad.

It was found that the money had left Indonesia and gone to 20 other nations.

According to the leader of an online discussion on June 15, titled "Dying of Gambling," 3.2 million Indonesians, including housewives and students, were active online gamblers.
