Intelligence agency uncovers illegal gambling operations amongst North & South Korean groups

A North Korean group operating illegal cyber operations and collaborating with multiple South Korean criminal organizations was discovered, the National Intelligence Service announced on Wednesday.

According to the intelligence agency, South Korean clients purchased gambling sites developed by North Korea's Kyonghung Information Technology Exchange Company.

The company's employees reportedly made $500 a month, which they sent back to the North, according to the NIS. The unlawful gambling websites were sold by the company for $5,000 apiece, and an additional $3,000 was required for operational expenses.
