International Cricket Council lifts ban on gambling sponsorship of attire and equipment

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has removed the prohibitions that applied to bilateral international matches, allowing gambling sponsorship on playing apparel and equipment. While it won't be in effect for ICC events like the World Cup, the restriction will be lifted in April. The usage of gambling advertisements sparked a larger discussion, and the CEC ultimately decided to maintain the limits during a meeting in November. There were existing ways to incorporate gambling advertising in the sport, such as by including logos in the stadium and on the field.
