Iowa gaming regulators detail timeline for Cedar Rapids casino bid

As a result of the state's recent decision to end a moratorium on new gaming licenses, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission has announced that it will review a proposal for a commercial casino resort in Cedar Rapids.

With effect from July 1, Iowa's gaming regulatory body is once more able to review proposals for new casinos. In no time at all, a group of mostly local businesspeople informed the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission that they would pursue a gaming concession for Cedar Rapids, the second-most populous city in the state.
