Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI), a division of OTPP, is up for sale. Given that the lottery's operating concession has 10 more years before it expires, the decision was unexpected. Since Ireland granted PLI the current concession in 2014, OTPP has owned a majority stake in the company. Along with the lottery's primary operator at the time and Post Pension Funds, it paid €405 million (US$434.8 million) for the rights to the game. OTPP has not given an explanation for why it decided to sell the lottery so abruptly. After selling Camelot's assets, including those in the UK and Illinois, to Allwyn, the company made the change a month later. It reportedly received about £100 million for those assets.
