Irish Justice Department backs gambling reforms

Ireland is still looking into reforming its gaming laws and can now rely on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to assist it fully when it's ready. The department makes it plain in its Justice Plan 2023 that it will now support the new gaming framework put out by the government. The DOJ has previously expressed opposition to certain of the laws' provisions. It voiced its worries in January of last year that some of the language was too ambiguous and would allow operators to get around regulations. It appears that lawmakers listened and made some changes. By pledging its support, the DOJ now seeks to aid in the bill's passage through the Irish Parliament.
