What Is a European Handicap?
The European handicap is essentially the same as the Asian handicap (we'll discuss how this works later), but with the addition of a draw option. Hibernian, for instance, may begin its match against Livingston with a goal disadvantage. You win your bet if they win by two goals or more. The European handicap is not only more well-known and frequently utilised than the Asian handicap, but it is also simpler to comprehend.

European Handicap and Asian Handicap are two different types of handicapping systems used in sports betting. The main difference between the two is how they handle draws and the types of handicaps used.

European Handicap:

- Allows for a draw outcome
- Uses whole numbers (e.g., +1, +2, -1, -2)
- Bets are refunded if the match ends in a draw
- Focuses on the winner of the match, with the handicap applied to the final score

Asian Handicap:

- Does not allow for a draw outcome (bets are settled as a win or loss)
- Uses half or quarter numbers (e.g., +1.25, +1.5, -1.75)
- Eliminates the possibility of a draw, as the handicap ensures a winner
- Focuses on the margin of victory, with the handicap applied to the final score

In summary, European Handicap allows for draws and uses whole numbers, while Asian Handicap eliminates draws and uses half or quarter numbers. This fundamental difference affects how bets are settled and requires different strategies for each system.
