Is it better to bet on the player, banker or sometimes both when playing baccarat?

When playing baccarat, is it smarter to bet on the player, banker or both? As an amateur gambler, the options can be overwhelming.

On the one hand, the banker hand has a slight advantage due to the 5% commission charged on winning banker bets. However, the player hand pays even money for a winning hand, so your money goes further. Some players believe alternating or "splitting" bets between player and banker on each hand increases your odds.

Others argue you're still just guessing either way. At the end of the day, luck is involved and the house will inevitably win more money from players due to the 3% commission on winning hands. So whether it's player, banker or both, you're betting against the odds. What's a gambler to do? The choice is yours, but the odds will always favor the house.

A few gamblers decide to wager on both the Player and Banker hands. Hedging is a tactic that covers both possible outcomes in order to lower the chance of losing. It is crucial to keep in mind, nevertheless, that each wager stands alone, and placing wagers on both sides does not ensure success.
