Is it ever a good idea to double down with a soft 17?

My experience playing Blackjack tells me doubling with a soft 17 is not advisable. You likely need another card for a better chance at getting closer to 21. The player has a 72.3% chance of busting if they double down with a soft 17. Even if the rules allow soft 17 doubling, it is better to not risk losing both bets right away and instead draw another card with the first bet. Other experienced Blackjack players I know share this view. So I recommend against doubling on a soft 17.

Thanks for this informative post...I'm new to this game so I don't have much contribution to make concerning this post. But I'm open to learning tho
How were you able to know that much about casino games?

Generally, it is not a good idea to double down with a soft 17. This is because a soft 17 is a hand that contains an ace that is worth 11 points. Since the ace can be worth either 1 or 11 points, a soft 17 is a flexible hand that has the potential to become much stronger.
