Yes, there is evidence to suggest that gambling addiction could be hereditary. Several studies have found that genes may play a role in the development of gambling addiction. For example, one study published in the Journal of Gambling Studies found an association between compulsive gambling and a variant of a dopamine receptor gene. Another study published in the Journal of Addictive Diseases found that there may be a genetic component to gambling addiction based on family and adoption studies. Additionally, a Daily Mail article also reported that gambling addiction can be inherited, stating that if one of your parents is addicted to gambling], the odds are high that you may develop a gambling problem as well. However, it's important to note that while genetics may play a role in the development of gambling addiction, environmental factors and personal choices also play a significant role.

Well i believe that we can all accept that gambling addiction is also a disease that needs to be cure in the body but i don't want to believe that it's hereditary. A father cannot transfer it to his children but can only influence it on them

This is a fair observation. While there have been studies which provide a small hereditary link between problem gamblers, I do not believe that it is enough for people to categorically declare that gambling addiction is hereditary.

Well, to determine either gambling addiction could be hereditary or not is a task that could be verify by only Anthropologist to decide. It is their field. They are the one to determine if gambling addiction could be hereditary or not. Anyway, I don't believe some of these addicted gamblers who are looking for means of survival can be said to have inherited the traits.

Research has shown that individuals with a family history of gambling addiction are more likely to develop a gambling problem themselves compared to those without such a family history.
Several studies have investigated the genetic factors that may contribute to the development of gambling addiction.

Researchers have also identified specific genetic markers that may be associated with an increased risk of developing gambling problems. Certain genes involved in brain chemistry, reward processing, and impulsivity have been implicated in influencing an individual's vulnerability to addiction, including gambling addiction.

Encourage good gambling habits like setting boundaries, taking pauses, and viewing gambling as enjoyment rather than a way to make money by using advertising and promotional materials. Avert excessive marketing and promotion that could promote impulsive gambling. Limit your exposure to gambling ads, especially when vulnerable people are more likely to be involved.

However genetics alone do not entirely determine if someone will develop an addiction to gambling. Environmental factors, such as exposure to gambling at a young age, can also play a significant role in the development of addiction
