Italy announces €7million license fees for online gambling operators

The new licensing framework for online gambling concessions has been decided upon by the Italian government.

The government's ongoing Reorganization of Gambling decree has led to the publication of a new structure for Italian online gambling concessions by the Parliament's Gazette yesterday.

By the end of 2024, new online gambling concessions will be allowed subject to a settlement; licenses will cost €7 million and have a maximum duration of nine years. As part of the settlement, Italian online gambling operators now have to pay 35 times the amount they paid for their licenses to operate online.
