Italy ready to finalize new rules for gambling establishments

An extensive reform in the gambling industry is about to take effect in Italy, and it will drastically change how gaming operators operate. The final touches have been made to one of the biggest regulatory reforms in recent years for online gaming concessions by the Agency of Customs and Monopolies.

The cost of acquiring an online gambling license has significantly increased, which is the most noticeable modification. A permit used to cost operators $219,120 before the new regulations went into effect; now, it costs a staggering €7 million for a nine-year license.
