Jake's 58 Casino Hotel expansion to remove Islandia property taxes

With the completion of this $210 million project, Jake's 58 will have twice as many video lottery terminals as it currently has—2,000 total. Residents of Islandia Village will not be required to pay property taxes once the project is finished and the slot-like machines are running, according to local officials.

Shortly, the project will save those homeowners money on taxes as well. Following the opening of the additional casino floor space, the Village of Islandia intends to abolish property taxes. Thus, homeowners will save between $400 and $500 annually on average.
