Japan to Penalize Players at Offshore Gambling Websites

Many countries around the world are trying to protect their citizens from illegal offshore gambling websites. In China, authorities are targeting overseas destinations such as Cambodia and the Philippines and exerting soft power to shutter the offshore gambling sectors. In Australia, the Australian Communications and Media Authority targeting bad actor websites one by one.

Japan, though, is going to be fully gung-ho on the matter and it's going to hold its own citizens responsible for participating in such websites. An update issued on Monday by Japan's National Police Agency and Consumer Affairs Agency said that the country will now treat participation in illegal gambling websites as a crime.

Gambling is a crime, so stay away, the update said. Whether the casino is operated under legal license. This is one of the first times that a country has decided to openly hold gamblers accountable, perhaps outside of China, for participating in gambling website that are unregulated.

This is an indication that Japan is trying to go tough against gambling in his country. The government might have decided to take this step as a result negative impact it might have on its citizen. Let's keep watch for its update.

How is this offshore game differs from online game. Somebody should explain to us. And why are some countries attempting to ban it?. They can't say they want to regulate gambling amongst their citizens thereby penalize the offshore gambling sites.

Since there's law before and they go against the law, it's only normal they get the right punishment for what they all did. Most sport players are not allowed to gamble which is a good thing to me

every gaming platform must follow the lay down rules and regulation and any one that violates the law must not go unpunished, any illegal gaming platform should be punished

Gambling has gone so far that people now use it as a total means of income. Which leads to many bad ways of playing gambling in the society

I don't know why government tries harder to make strict laws against betting and gambling. But if the country has made the laws_, then there should be compliance.
