Jirehl Brock, a football standout for Iowa State, is one of four athletes accused of partaking in illicit sports betting.

In conjunction with the state's investigation into illegitimate sports wagering at the two institutions, Jirehl Brock and four additional Iowa State football players, along with three present or former Iowa football competitors, and a student staff member, were accused on Thursday. Since last week, charges have been filed in the continuing investigation against a total of 15 sports teams and players as well as staff members with connections to the institutions. If current players break NCAA gambling laws, they risk losing their eligibility. In Story County, charges were brought against Brock and ISU teammates Isaiah Lee, Hanika, and Remsburg on suspicion of tampering with documents to conceal the fact that they were under the legal gambling age of 21 when they made their bets.
