Judge orders ex-interpreter of baseball player to undergo gambling addiction treatment

In a sports betting case involving claims he took $16 million from the Japanese baseball player's bank account to settle debts, a federal judge on Friday mandated that the former longtime interpreter for a Los Angeles Dodgers star undergo treatment for gambling addiction.

Prosecutors claimed that the criminal stole millions of dollars from the two-way player's account over a period of years by taking advantage of his personal and professional relationship with him, sometimes even posing as him to bankers.

Can't believe someone would steal that much from their client, just crazy. Makes you wonder how well they really knew each other if the interpreter was able to get away with taking millions over years like that without the player noticing. Wonder how the treatment will go, addiction is a powerful thing.
