Kahnawàke Council files a lawsuit to challenge Ontario's iGaming regulations.

In order to be lawful, commercial gambling and betting must be "conducted and managed" by a provincial government. In contrast to the majority of provinces that allow online gambling, where the government maintains a monopoly, Ontario introduced a licensed system this year. As of yet, there are more than 30 different licensed operators.
The Mohawk Council asserted that it was obvious that the province did not conduct or manage internet gambling, despite the fact that the terms "conducting" and "managing" are not defined specifically.
As an alternative, it stated, "iGaming Ontario is allowing operators to conduct and govern themselves, subject to the payment of a percentage of their profits to Ontario."
