Kansas sports betting produces $7 million for the state in its first year.

Sports wagering in Kansas has generated $7 million in earnings for the state in taxes from the initial 12 months of activities, data from the Kansas Lottery has unveiled. Kansas went live with sports betting on September 1, 2022 after Gov. Laura Kelly ratified the bill into law, and in the first 12 months of the market's launch, $1.85 billion was placed as bets. As per KCUR, Lottery Director Matt Schwarz has informed stakeholders that the numbers from the inaugural year were robust and that for the following year, a significant disparity is not anticipated.
