Kazakhstan gambling sector blasts proposed payment monopoly scheme

The proposed laws pertaining to a new payment regulation system for the fintech and gaming industries have alarmed Kazakhstani gambling operators. The government has not been consulted on plans to create a Unified Accounting System, according to the lobby group Kazakhstan Fair Gambling Campaign.

Although detractors claim the president's mandated centralised system would give the government more control over gaming, it would also give payments to a private monopoly.
