Lagos orders customers to stop betting with 43 online firms

According to a statement from the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, 43 lottery and betting operators in the Nigerian state of Lagos have been singled out for engaging in unlicensed activity.

Notable names like Yolo Group's Sportsbet.io, Malta-based European multinational NetBet, and well-known local Nigerian player Cloudbet, a cryptocurrency sportsbook and casino, are among the operators on the list.

Numerous lottery operators, including Elliest Lotto, Riderlotto, Peelslotto, Setlotto, Western Lott, and Lottomania, have also been accused of breaking state licensing laws; however, the majority of businesses that are under the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority's purview seem to be bookmakers.
