Large penalties for operating illegally in the Netherlands

The Dutch Gaming Authority has levied a penalty of slightly more than €2m on LCS for providing online gaming services to players in the Netherlands without a valid license. The enforcement action follows LCS, whose most recent penalty pertains to its Son of Slots platform, being fined €165,000 in August 2022 and instructed to promptly halt the unlawful offering. René Jansen, the chairman of the KSA, emphasized that an enforceable penalty order is frequently a highly efficient approach to immediately curtail illicit provisions.

That's a pretty hefty fine for operating without a license. It's important for companies to follow the rules and regulations in place, especially when it comes to online gaming. I'm sure this will serve as a warning to other companies thinking of doing the same.
