Las Vegas Sands casino hotel concerned about iGaming in New York

Although the operator is aware that iGaming may become a reality in the state and pose a threat to traditional gaming establishments, Las Vegas Sands is still interested in introducing a casino hotel to the New York City market.

Although New York is not one of the seven states that currently permit iGaming, the state is anticipated to consider legislation pertaining to the subject this year, and Empire State lawmakers are probably aware that nearby New Jersey generates a sizable amount of tax revenue from online casinos.

Well, I feel as iGaming becomes more accessible and regulated, it can attract players who might otherwise visit brick-and-mortar casinos. However, this shift also presents opportunities for casino operators to expand into the digital space rather than resisting change. If Las Vegas Sands adapts by embracing online gambling, it could position itself as a leader in both physical and digital gaming markets rather than viewing iGaming purely as a threat.

Las Vegas Sands is exploring the New York City market for a casino hotel, despite the potential rise of iGaming, which could challenge traditional establishments. Although New York hasn't legalized iGaming yet, lawmakers may address it soon, given New Jersey's significant tax revenue from online casinos.
