Do light/dark bets have any advantage over red/black bets when playing European roulette? In my experience both have almost equal chance of winning but I prefer light/dark bets because there are fewer colours to track vs telling red from black at high speeds. What has been your experience? Do you prefer one over the other and why? I would love to hear different perspectives.

In European roulette, the light/dark bets and red/black bets have the same odds of winning. Both have a probability of 18/37 (48.65%) of hitting on any given spin. So mathematically, there is no advantage of one over the other.

However, personal preference and playing style can come into play when choosing which bet to make. For example, some players may find it easier to track the light and dark colors on the roulette wheel compared to distinguishing between the red and black colors.

Additionally, players may have differing betting strategies for each type of bet. Some may prefer to place bets that cover a larger portion of the wheel (such as light and dark bets), while others may prefer to focus their bets on specific numbers or sections of the wheel (such as red or black bets).

Ultimately, the choice between light/dark and red/black bets is a matter of personal preference and playing style. It is important to choose a betting strategy that is comfortable and enjoyable for you, while also keeping in mind the mathematical odds of each type of bet.
