In an effort to drastically tighten regulations surrounding the gambling industry, the Lithuanian Finance Ministry has drafted legislative amendments that require gambling operators to keep an eye on patrons who are addicted to gaming or who have lost sizable sums of money.
Operators of gaming establishments would have to implement responsible gaming policies under the amendments.
The plan also asks for increasing the authority of market supervision over gaming.
The amendments will be presented to the parliament during the spring session after being approved by the government.
