Losing money is all part of the experience

That’s the truth of it, ain’t none of us go to a casino actually expecting to win money in the long run! The thrill of the game is really what draws us in. I’ve been going to Vegas once a year for 30 years now, and I’ve won plenty but lost way more. But the stories I’ve got from those casino nights, good and bad, make the losses seem small in hindsight.

The slots are like a rollercoaster, the spins just keep comin’ and you keep holding out hope for that big hit. The table games, now there’s where you can really stack up a tab without realizing how drunk and foolish you’re getting. I’ve made some crazy bets in my time, and still managed to scrape together enough cash for another round.

End of the day though, I don’t gamble to get rich. I gamble for that escape, to feel the excitement and maybe win enough to buy the lovely lady on my arm a fancy dinner. The casinos know all our habits, that’s how they stay in business. But sentimental fool that I am, I’ll keep coming back with my wallet open, just hoping for that long shot to finally hit. The day they cut me off is the day I finally grow up!

Somebody’s gotta feed the bears, I always say. And these casino sharks, they're always hungry for one more sucker at the table.
