Lottery companies collaborate with NCPG to increase youth gambling awareness.
According to recent study, a person is more likely to develop a gambling issue later in life the earlier they participate in or are exposed to gambling as children.
The 2022 Gift Responsibly Campaign was created in response, and 63 lotteries and 53 non-lottery organizations from around the world have joined. The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) and the European Lotteries both support the initiative (EL).
Campaign participants want to increase public awareness of the dangers of buying lottery tickets for kids. The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and the McGill University International Center for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors are in charge of organizing the campaign.
